Achieving Russia’s goals – the occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions within their administrative borders – will not satisfy the ambitions of the Russian Federation, but will create conditions for the expansion of aggression.
From the beginning of the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, the losses of the invaders amount to about 20% of the personnel and up to 60% of the main types of weapons and equipment.
Brigadier General, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Aleksey Gromov spoke about this at a press conference on May 11.
“Enemy losses by this time since the beginning of the so-called special operation already amount to about 20% of the personnel and up to 60% of the main types of weapons and military equipment,” Gromov said.
“But even the achievement by the enemy of the declared goal of the second stage of the so-called special operation – the occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions within their administrative borders – most likely will not satisfy the enemy’s ambitions, but will only create conditions for the expansion of aggression ,” the general noted.
He also said that, despite all the difficulties, the Armed Forces of Ukraine adequately fulfill the tasks of defending Ukraine and their constitutional duty.
Recall, on May 11, the Ministry of Defense reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine won the first phase of the war with Russia , but there is still a long stage of struggle ahead until the complete cleansing of Ukraine.
