British Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes that Russia’s attack on Ukraine marks the end of the post-Cold War era.
He noted that after February 24, the situation in Europe has changed dramatically.
The British prime minister said this at a press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinostio, writes Yle .
“The Russian attack on Ukraine has changed the European security formula, changed our reality and our future. We are witnessing the end of a post-Cold War era, and the attack on Ukraine, sadly, has opened a new page,” Johnson said.
He assured that Great Britain is ready to support Finland and Sweden militarily in the event of an enemy attack.
“What happened on February 24 is still going on, the terrible war in Ukraine has completely changed the picture. They are ready to attack a neighboring country. And when you ask how Russia will react to Finland joining NATO … If this happens, then I would say that you they themselves led to this,” the President of Finland said in turn.
Recall that Britain signed a historic agreement with Sweden on mutual security guarantees in the event of an attack.
