4-year-old Alisa from Mariupol, along with her mother, was on the territory of Azovstal.
During the evacuation of civilians, the occupiers left the mother of the girl in a filtration camp, and the child herself was taken to the territory controlled by Ukraine. Fortunately, Alice’s relatives were found.
This was announced by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova.
“Today, a relative arrived in Zaporozhye, where the child was temporarily sheltered. Now Alice, together with her uncle, is heading to a safe region in western Ukraine. In the near future, the girl is expected to meet with her grandmother, who will come from Poland. Little Alice will be transferred to her custody as a child who, under martial law, was left without parental care,” Denisova said.
She added that this story will have a happy ending only after the release of the girl’s mother from the filtration camp and her return from the occupied territory.
Lyudmila Denisova called on international organizations to join in the release of Ukrainians in captivity in order to restore the right of children to parental upbringing, which is provided for by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Recall that during the evacuation from Azovstal, the invaders separated 4-year-old Alice from her mother. According to Azov, the mother of the child remained in a filtration camp on the territory of the so-called DPR.
The video of Alisa from the Azovstal bunker first appeared on April 17. Then it was reported that Alice was the daughter of a military doctor from Mariupol .
