German Chancellor Olaf Scholz suggested that Ukraine could need about a hundred years to overcome the consequences of the war with Russia. In particular, the elimination of explosive objects.

“Those who live in Germany know that the bombs that fell here during the Second World War are still being found today. Ukraine will have to deal with the consequences of this war for another hundred years. Such wars have long-term consequences: all the shells that are now launched can stay in the ground for years,” Scholz said.
He also added that the Russian war of conquest is not only a war against Ukraine, but also a “war with consequences for the whole world”, referring to the rise in energy and food prices, the threat of starvation in poor countries.
