The European Union emphasized that they do not recognize any attempts by Russia to hold so-called “referendums” in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in order to proclaim new “people’s republics” or join the Russian Federation.
The EU also condemned the forced deportation of Ukrainians to the Russian Federation and the so-called “filtration camps”.
This was stated in the EU mission to the OSCE at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on Thursday in Vienna.
“We reaffirm our strong condemnation of the Russian attempts to create illegitimate alternative administrative structures in Kherson, Mariupol and other cities of Ukraine. Any attempts by the Kremlin to hold so-called referendums at gunpoint in the territories under the control of the Russian army in order to proclaim new “people’s republics” or joining Russia are illegal and will not be recognized ,” the statement said.
Recall that the occupiers are preparing to hold “refendums” on the accession of Ukrainian territories to the Russian Federation. This intention was announced by the Russian military and collaborators in the Kherson region and Mariupol destroyed by them.
