Experts and officials told when enough fuel will appear and at what price it will stop

In different regions, different amounts of fuel, as well as prices for it, small gas stations can rule for gasoline and 65 UAH.

The queues go around the street and end far around the corner – this is how they wait at one of the few gas stations in Zaporozhye, where there is now fuel. Most don’t work at all. In some places, only special vehicles, police, military and public utilities are in charge, according to TSN .

“There is no fuel anywhere. Especially no diesel at all. And they release the limit – 10 liters each. No more, ”they say at the gas station.

But there are no problems with gas in the city, it costs around 37 hryvnia per liter. And in some places even without queues.

Problems with gasoline and in Chernivtsi are somewhat easier with diesel, which is sold on average for 43 UAH. They release 10-15 liters per hand. However, they are followed by interest in a queue of hundreds of cars.

Most drivers don’t complain. They say they understand that there is a war in the country and they are ready for inconvenience and share the coordinates of gas stations where there is fuel.

There are also queues in the Odessa region, but at least in the city, unlike the region, there is fuel, drivers say. Here they also release 10-15 liters in one hand. Gasoline costs up to 40 hryvnias per liter, as recommended by the state. Dizpalovo – about 45. “I just arrived from the border with Poland, in Odessa there are no problems with this at all. Only two gas stations and queues work in Odessa, ”says one of the drivers.

It is also extremely difficult to refuel in Vinnitsa. A large number of gas stations operate only with fuel cards and no more than 10-20 liters. And even then not regularly, it happens to be idle for several days.

In general, almost the entire country is experiencing a fuel shortage. And although the situation is better than last week, experts say that the increase in supplies through Poland has not yet worked as expected. Of the 200,000 tons a month, about 60 have now been driven in. And this is not enough. “There is movement, positive movement, but the next 2 weeks, let’s put it this way, the situation will be quite complicated,” experts say.

The fact that Ukrainians are returning home puts pressure on the situation. There is a shortage among private consumers, since the bulk of the fuel is now directed to the operation of critical infrastructure and the military. Added to this is the factor of logistics. Large volumes are simply not delivered to some regions now, because there are not enough consumers there. There are also problems in cities close to the front line. “It is often simply difficult to find drivers who will drive to areas close to the war zone. But I am sure that the situation will improve in these regions, and in the horizon of 3-3.5 weeks there will be a better situation,” says Alexander Kharchenko, Advisor to the Minister of Energy.

As for prices, some gas stations still sell fuel at government-recommended prices for cards and cash. Others sell it exclusively through apps or fuel cards. And there the cost may differ from those recommended by the state at least 5 hryvnia. Some suppliers do not sell fuel to the population at all, but only to wholesale buyers, where the price is not regulated. At the same time, at some gas stations that are not part of large networks, you can also see space price tags – from 65 hryvnia and more than a liter of gasoline. Usually there are no queues, and people refuel only out of desperation.

“Here is a question for the local authorities, who should influence such dreamers. And apply the tools, and their government has provided enough to appease the abusers,” Kharchenko adds.

At the same time, experts suggest that in the future, fuel prices will still grow. You should be guided by labels in neighboring Poland. “We import from Europe. Yes, everyone gives support, but you can’t say that they give us cheap. This is also a business. And so it is reflected in the price. And diesel fuel, which is now sold at 45 – it really should be around 60 hryvnia. And, unfortunately, it will move in that direction. And this applies to gasoline,” says Yuriy Korolchuk.

Other experts are sure that the current marginal markups and the absence of excise taxes make it possible to keep the price within the current limits, earn money for networks, and citizens to receive fuel at an affordable price. And the cost should rise only if the price of fuel in Europe rises. However, we are talking only about 3-5 hryvnia. But the final trend will become clear in early – mid-June, when the situation with fuel supplies becomes stable.
