On Thursday, May 12, the President of Ukraine spoke with the leaders of Finland and Slovakia
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on his work on the foreign policy front, where he is trying to enlist the support of as many states as possible.
The head of state spoke about this during his video message on the evening of May 12.
So, with Finnish President Sauli Niinnostio, Zelensky discussed Ukraine’s European integration and defense cooperation.
He thanked Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova for the support rendered to Ukraine. The parties agreed on the next steps across the entire spectrum of relations: defense, sanctions, the economy, including fuel imports, and further rapprochement with the European Union.
Zelensky also announced appeals to students from the US and Europe.
“I’m getting ready to continue special formats of communication with friendly societies, in particular with students from partner countries. Soon I will contact American students. Also, students from European countries. We must spread our Ukrainian ideas and explain at all levels exactly how we, Ukrainians, see the life of Europe and the world after this war, a war that changes everything in world politics,” he said.
In conclusion, Zelensky thanked Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutt for today’s appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
“This is an important gesture of support. And more importantly, the Netherlands advocates the rejection of Russian oil and is ready to implement it without delay,” the head of state stressed.
