HIPER has a very large number of varieties of TWS headphones, which mainly include budget models costing up to 2-3 thousand rubles. But it is in this review that we will talk about a model called SAMUN, which is also located in this price segment.

The TWS headphones are delivered in a rectangular cardboard box. On the front side, you can see the device itself against the background of some kind of explosion.

On the back of the package are the technical specifications of this model. And in the side parts of the package are located:

• information about the colors in which this device is sold;

• USB A to Type-C charging cable;
• 3 pairs of interchangeable ear pads;
• instruction in Russian;
• warranty card (along with instructions);

Appearance

TWS SAMUN is sold in four palettes: blue, pink, green and white. From the outside, the case is completely made of glossy plastic, on which any prints are not particularly visible, but scratches, like any other cases with a glossy finish, are collected with a bang.

The case is compact and will easily fit into almost any pocket. Its dimensions are: 5.7 x 3.8 x 2.2 centimeters. In the following photos, you can see it next to the AirPods 2 charging case.

On the front side, you can see a single notch. By the way, the lid in the closed position is fixed with magnets, but in the open position it is not fixed.

I would also like to note that the lid of the charging case does not play at all in the closed position, but there is a slight play in the open position. I am sure that the average user may not notice this.

There is nothing on the top and bottom (not even a physical pairing button), instead here we can only see neatly rounded corners. As for the pairing button, it is not needed here, but we will talk about this a little later.

On the back of the charging case there is a Type-C connector and, to the left of it, a case status indicator that can light up in blue or red.

Inside, the charging case is pretty minimalistic too. There are no marks like R and L or, for example, a display showing the remaining charge level. In the following photos, you can see that the headphone seats are covered with the same glossy finish as the case from the outside. There are also contacts (two in each) for charging.

Let’s move on to the design of the headphones themselves, which in appearance resemble beans. They are also quite miniature, they do not take up a lot of space and this is very pleasing. On the outside of each headphone is a touch control area (marked with a circle) and a status indicator that lights up in blue / red.

On the inside of each earbud are charging contacts and a mark (R or L). The sound guide is very short and covered with a metal mesh.

I think it is worth noting that in the ears they sit very confidently and without any hint of falling out. Headphones look neat in the auricles. After prolonged use, the ears do not hurt, I think this is also a very important indicator for many.

Using them lying on a pillow, they practically do not cause discomfort. We will talk about control and accidental clicks in another section.

Management, pairing and communication

Let me remind you that the reviewed headphones have touch control, through which you can:

• one tap on any of the headphones – pause / play, or else in this way you can receive an incoming call;
• double tap on the left, or on the right – switches the song to the previous (L), or to the next ®;
• triple tap on the left or right – decreases (L) or increases ® volume;
• long touch (more than two seconds) on any of the headphones – turn off the headphone;
• long touch (for two seconds) during a call – reject the call;
• long touch to a single sound (1-2 seconds) – call the voice assistant;

I don’t know if it’s worth saying that in terms of control, everything here is very rich, even to the point that you can turn off the earpiece that we don’t need.

Now let’s discuss accidental clicks that can be easily avoided. To do this, you should at least take five minutes to manage. Having figured out and got used to it, I almost never had accidental clicks during the “placement / insertion” of the headphones into my ears. And this is very pleasing.

As for pairing, everything is very simple here. To connect HIPER TWS SAMUN, you need to pull the headphones themselves out of the case and that’s it. TWS headphones “HIPER TWS SAMUN” should appear on the smartphone in the “Bluetooth” settings. This whole process takes about three minutes.

When paired with the iPhone 11, they work great at home at a distance of ~10 meters, given two more concrete walls. At a distance of about 15 meters, the connection is already beginning to lose momentum. But there are no complaints here, this is a very good result. On the street (with strong wind) the connection is lost at a distance of 8 meters. This indicator is not particularly interesting, since I don’t remember the situation when on the street a smartphone from my headphones was once at a distance of more than two meters.

Sound

By tradition, I’ll start with a volume margin, which is not so much right here, but it should definitely be enough for ordinary users. Compared to AirPods 2, the headphones are about 10-15% lower on the volume scale.

I have no complaints about the lows, but the mids and highs are a little slurred. But! The average user will not even notice this, unless, of course, he or she is a music lover. For watching movies, TV shows or the same videos on YouTube, these headphones are just right. In addition, I listened to audiobooks in them and did not notice any difference between AirPods 2 (~ which cost about 12 thousand rubles).

Microphone

To demonstrate the operation of the microphone, I posted a private video especially for you, which can only be opened by clicking on the link . If to describe in words, then I initially had no expectations from the work of the microphone. In such a budget segment, you should not expect a good microphone. Yes, you can and will be able to talk through them in a quiet environment, but even then you will need to speak clearly and loudly (at least not exactly quietly). In noisy places, no.

autonomy

The battery capacity in one earphone is 40 mAh, and in the charging case itself 300 mAh. The length of the charging cable is approximately 30 centimeters. Fully charged headphones at maximum volume were able to work for a little more than two hours (~ 2 hours and 10 minutes). I think at 50% volume they will last a little more than three hours. Yes, unfortunately, the headphones cannot boast of autonomy and there is no such fancy function as wireless charging.

Conclusion

HIPER TWS Samun – can be called good headphones in its price segment, which are great for normal everyday use. Here you should not expect some fancy buns, such as active noise cancellation. By the way, with regard to noise suppression, in this model it is enough because of the dense ear cushions.
