11-year-old Yaroslav takes care of his mother and twin sister, they say in the First Medical Association of Lviv.
“He grew up at the moment when a Russian rocket flew into the Kramatorsk railway station. His twin sister and mother, who were on the platform, were left without legs: a girl – both, a woman – one. And 11-year-old Yaroslav is now taking care of them. Even himself goes to a store next to the hospital,” the report said.
A family from Novgorodsky, Donetsk region. The children’s father died, and the stepfather went to war. In early April, the mother of the children, Natalya, decided to take her son and daughter out of the shelling. So with suitcases they arrived at Kramatorsk railway station.
While waiting for the train, Yana asked her mother for tea, which was prepared by volunteers on the platform. Yaroslav remained to guard things in the room. When my mother and sister went outside, there was an explosion.
“Natalya, who still cannot forgive that trip for tea, recalls: when she opened her eyes, everything was covered in blood. Then she saw that her daughter had no legs. And after she could not get up, she realized that she herself was without one limb,” they say in the medical facility.
They were frightened to Lvov by an evacuation train. Now the children and mother are already smiling, because, finally, they are safe. Very soon the family will go for prosthetics and rehabilitation in the United States.
