Broken trees, shell pits, piles of garbage and ashes – all this is the result of the so-called “liberation” by Russian invaders of the country house of garden blogger Antonina Lesik in the village of Dmitrovka, Kyiv region, as well as the housing of her husband’s parents.
After a full-scale Russian attack on Ukraine on February 25, Antonina, together with her husband, children and parents, decided to leave the war for western Ukraine. The woman believed that she would return soon, but she is still not at home. Now the garden blogger is still abroad with the kids.
This was told by the garden blogger Antonina Lesik on the air of “Snidanku z 1 + 1”.
Antonina, after leaving for the west of Ukraine, was forced to leave with her daughters abroad, and later learned about the fate of her home from her husband.
“And when I left this house, I thought that it was for a few days, that it would all pass somehow, that it could not be true, that everything would calm down and we would return … He (husband – Ed.) told me called on the phone and said: “That’s it. Our house was captured, more than 50 Russian soldiers live there, and they set up their headquarters there. “And this information was from the neighbors who remained in the village,” she recalls.
The invaders stayed in the houses of Antonina and her relatives for about a month. The Russians entered the woman’s yard with tanks, the invaders moved her garden, blueberry bushes, flower beds.
“There were tanks standing there, they drove across the lawn, they drove right over the fence. There (in the house. – Ed.) Everything was broken, turned upside down. They ate from clean dishes that they took from me from the sideboard, and these dishes were thrown directly into the trash . Sorry for the details, but there were just heaps of shit in the corners, ” the woman says with tears in her eyes.
In addition, the invaders in Antonina’s house kindled the fireplace with children’s books and put out cigarettes on the children’s desk. At the same time, the Russians inflicted even greater destruction on the house of Antonina’s husband’s parents, where fierce fighting took place.
During one of them, a rocket hit people’s homes. As a result, almost nothing remained of the house, as well as part of the garden. However, according to Antonina, most of all she is sorry for the family history.
“My husband’s mother made such albums – she signed them, our whole family. It was these albums that burned down. There were also several valuable icons that were passed from my grandmother, towels, tablecloths,” says Antonina.
Miraculously, only a small part of the living room with a family tree on a shelf survived. His grandmother made with her granddaughters.
“Perhaps, this is such a sign – the main thing is that our family was saved, we are all alive and our family will continue. We will continue to rebuild, try to continue to live with our family,” she notes.
Now, after the liberation of the village from the invaders, the parents returned to Dmitrovka. They live in Antonina’s house, where they do household chores, work a little in the garden and in the garden. However, experts advise demolishing the house where they lived under the foundation and building something new.
“There is an idea to rebuild it. We want to live on with the whole family, so that grandfathers and grandmothers are nearby and we are nearby,” she summed up.
