Former Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Gao Yusheng criticized the Russian invasion, called the signs of Russia’s defeat and spoke about the threat of President Vladimir Putin’s policies to European security.
The Chinese media, which published the news with the diplomat’s statements, fell under censorship and removed the relevant materials. However, this data is available in an archived version.
The Washington Post writes about it.
Thus, at the forum of the State Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Gao Yusheng noted that Russia’s actions on the battlefield lead to defeat, since they are not supported by economic policy.
“The daily war continues to cost Russia dearly. Not only is it lagging behind on the battlefield, it is also losing the economic, diplomatic and advertising campaign, which means that the final defeat of Russia is only a matter of time ,” said the ex-Chinese ambassador.
Let us add that Yusheng sees the reasons for Russia’s failures in the fact that after the collapse of the USSR, it is in a historical process of continuous decline. This is a continuation of the decline of the Soviet Union. The diplomat considers false the judgment of the so-called revival of Russia under the leadership of Putin, which does not exist at all.
The former Chinese ambassador to Ukraine also noted the failure of the Russian blitzkrieg and the inability to make decisions quickly. According to him , Russia’s limited resources do not correspond to the status of a “military superpower” and the country is not capable of waging a high-tech war worth hundreds of millions of dollars a day. Every day the war drags on, it places a heavy burden on the Russian economy, Yuishen said.
Recall, the day before, French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese leader Xi Jinping noted the need to support all efforts aimed at providing humanitarian support to the population of Ukraine.
