Fighting continued near the President’s Office during the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion. The situation was very threatening.
All people versed in military matters were sure that the country’s leadership would not survive.
Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, spoke about this in a conversation with Russian journalist and human rights activist Mark Feigin.
“For the first four days, I was 98% sure that we were going to rock,” Arestovich said.
Feigin recalled that at that time Arestovich went on the air and did not tell anything.
“What can I say? Good afternoon, we are a skiff. There would be an instant collapse of the strong-willed component, and the end of everything. I was sure that we would not survive. It is impossible to survive when you are told every five minutes that 300, 400, 1200 units. ” And when the fighting is already in the center of Kyiv, and the guards and the military report that there were 60 military clashes in two days … I did not believe that we would survive, “added the adviser to the OP.
Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the strategic defeat of Russia is already obvious to everyone in the world , but the Kremlin is still trying to hide it.
