The head of the United Nations World Food Programme, David Beasley, called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to reopen Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea before a global catastrophe breaks out.
A million people around the world are waiting for death, because the ports of Ukraine are blocked by Russia.
He stated this in a commentary to CNN.
“If you have a heart for people in another world, no matter how you feel about Ukraine, you need to open these ports,” Beasley said.
Beasley warned they must be operational within the next 60 days or Ukraine’s agriculture-based economy would collapse completely.
Recall that Ukrainian diplomacy is working on unblocking ports. There are already certain results, namely, alternative routes for the supply of agricultural products to world markets have been found.
President Charles Michel visited Odessa on May 9 and made sure that the Russian Federation blocked the export of food important to the whole world.
