Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he does not look favorably on the intention of Finland and Sweden to join NATO. Moreover, the Turkish leader called these states a haven for “terrorist organizations.”
Note that Turkey is a member of the Alliance, and its approval is necessary for the entry of Sweden and Finland.

“We do not have a positive opinion. The Scandinavian countries are like guest houses for terrorist organizations. Those who support terrorism are in the parliaments of these countries ,” Erdogan said.
He specified that representatives of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which Turkey considers a terrorist organization, are operating in Sweden and Finland.
Recall that on May 12, Russia threatened that they could hit Finland and Sweden after they joined NATO.
And already on May 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the permanent members of the Security Council potential threats to the decision of Finland and Sweden to join NATO.
