The information provided by Viktor Medvedchuk in connection with the purchase of coal in the so-called “L/DPR” in 2014-2015 and the transfer of part of the Samara-Western Direction oil product pipeline from state ownership to private ownership confirms the entire array of evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The head of the SBU, Ivan Bakanov , spoke about this on the air of the national telethon.

“In our opinion, Medvedchuk confirms the evidence and versions that the Security Service has collected, and on the basis of which both Mr. Medvedchuk and Mr. Poroshenko were previously suspected. Namely, in high treason and financing of terrorism. He talks about all the details and schemes. We We are confidently moving forward in the investigation of these extremely resonant cases. And we will bring them to their logical conclusion. Because the law must work regardless of names and circumstances,” Ivan Bakanov emphasized.

The head of the SBU stressed that each of the cases is at different stages of investigation, and the collection and analysis of evidence, which began long before the war, continues.

“We are moving consistently, but the court should put an end to it. It doesn’t matter how long ago these events took place, each person involved must answer according to the law,” he said.

In particular, soon the court will consider the case of subversive activities within the framework of the anti-Ukrainian project Luch, in which V. Medvedchuk appears.

As for the “coal” and “pipe” cases, Medvedchuk confirms the key role of Petro Poroshenko in them.

“He confirms that ex-president Poroshenko used Medvedchuk’s connections with the leadership of the Russian Federation to organize certain business schemes. And, according to the SBU, they were definitely not in the interests of Ukraine. On the contrary, the economy and security of the state suffered direct losses. And this was facilitated various officials: based on the testimony of Mr. Medvedchuk – from ministers to the head of the National Bank,” the head of the SBU said.

Such actions significantly increased the influence of the Russian Federation on the economy of Ukraine. “Information from Medvedchuk enables the Ukrainian society to see what kind of state policy was before. This is really a matter not only of legal responsibility, but also of moral responsibility. Because we saw an example of incredible political cynicism – when business issues were resolved under patriotic slogans and even terrorists were financed For the sake of a quick penny, Russia’s influence on Ukraine was strengthened,” Ivan Bakanov added.

Recall that Medvedchuk, detained by the SBU, spoke about schemes for withdrawing from state ownership of a part of the main oil product pipeline for pumping diesel fuel through it and purchasing coal in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass.

Describing the essence of the schemes, Medvedchuk said that Poroshenko not only turned to him with a request to contact the leadership of the Russian Federation, but also ensured that the necessary decisions were made in all Ukrainian instances.
