Ukraine stopped the Russian army, which was called the “second army” of the world. And at a heavy cost, he continues to push back the occupiers.
Ukraine has set a historic precedent for courage by refusing to listen to those who said our defenses would not last more than a few days.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky on May 23, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“We stopped the Russian army, which we called the ‘second army’ of the world. And at the cost of heavy fighting, at the cost of thousands of lives, we are gradually pushing the occupiers out of our land,” he said.
Zelensky added: “But did we have to do this so that last year they listened to us and applied fair, preventive, full range of sanctions against the Russian Federation?”
Recall that British intelligence compared Russia’s losses in Ukraine during the three months of a full-scale war with the losses of the Soviet Union during the nine years of the war in Afghanistan. As noted in the British Ministry of Defense, these losses are equivalent.
