President Zelensky believes that analogies can be drawn between the war in Ukraine and the global coronavirus pandemic.
President Volodymyr Zelensky compared the global COVID-19 pandemic to the war in Ukraine.
The head of state said this during a conversation at the Ukrainian House in Davos.
“Someone (some countries – Ed.) received vaccines earlier, and someone later received vaccines. And then everyone understood and began to unite, put pressure on their government. After all, when everyone gets sick, everyone needs to be treated. Therefore, an example is COVID -19 and the spread of the same tragedy, Russia’s aggression. We know where it started, but we don’t know where it will end,” Zelensky said.
The President suggested that the next victims of Russian aggression could be the Baltic countries, Poland and Hungary and Germany.
“It will pass through Hungary, which plays along with Russia, or it will stay there. No one knows. Many states that during the Second World War played along and agreed with Germany behind Europe’s backs about their peaceful existence and neutrality — what did they get. “Were there special Jews? No, everyone suffered then. And then Babi Yar – 100 thousand tortured, not only Jews. Every fifth Ukrainian died in World War II,” the head of state said.
Zelensky stressed that there is no concept of distance for occupation, and therefore any aggressor must be stopped from the very beginning.
Recall that the World Economic Forum began in Davos.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky said that the war would end with the victory of Ukraine, because there is simply no other way out .
