President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The speech of the head of state was devoted to the situation in Ukraine due to the war unleashed by Russia.
“History remembers many moments when history changed dramatically. Historical turns were noticeable and not very noticeable, but they always had to be reacted to. Now we have a large collection of reactions (UN, OSCE, IAEA, WTO), but are they enough? It is necessary to change the approach, create new tools. We have stopped the Russian army and are gradually pushing the occupiers out of our land. Would we have had to do this if last year the whole range of preventive sanctions were applied against the Russian Federation, capable of knocking down any aggressor? I’m sure the answer is no. The prevention of war would be guaranteed if the actions of the world were preventive, not reactive,” he said.
Recall, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the Law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine to Improve the Effectiveness of Sanctions Related to the Assets of Individuals”, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on May 12, 2022.
