AMD has released a new version of the graphics driver Software Adrenalin Edition 22.5.2. It includes support for Sniper Elite 5, support for the Hitman 3 ray tracing update, new Vulkan API extensions, and various optimizations to improve Radeon RX 6000 gaming performance.
The manufacturer has also added support for Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) technology for the integrated graphics cores of Ryzen 6000 mobile processors. A Sharpen Effect slider has appeared in the Radeon application settings, which adds RSR sharpness adjustment.
In the new version of the driver, the company introduced new software to improve privacy. It is based on eye-tracking technology developed in collaboration with the Eyeware team. The application tracks the user’s eye movement and shows only the place on the screen that he is looking at, obscuring everything else.
AMD also announces DirectX 11 gaming performance optimizations on Radeon RX 6000 series cards. For example, the new AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 22.5.2 driver offers up to 8% better DirectX 11 gaming performance over the previous driver using the Radeon RX 6950 XT accelerator.
In the new driver version, work has been done to optimize AMD Smart Access Memory (SAM) technology for Death Stranding and Watch Dogs Legion:
- up to 10% boost in Death Stranding at 1440p Very High settings and up to 13% boost in Watch Dogs: Legion on the Radeon RX 6950 XT;
- up to 12% gain in Death Stranding at 1440p Very High settings and up to 24% in Watch Dogs: Legion on the Radeon RX 6750 XT;
- up to 6% gain in Death Stranding at very high settings at 1440p and up to 6% in Watch Dogs: Legion on the Radeon RX 6650 XT.
List of known issues:
- Fortnite may experience performance drops when using multi-threaded rendering and DirectX 11 on Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards.
- Image stuttering may occur in Call of Duty: Warzone on a Caldera card using Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards.
- the Instant Replay feature on Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards uses more CPU resources than expected;
- GPU Utilization may get stuck at 100% in the Radeon Monitoring application after exiting a game on Radeon RX 570 graphics cards.
- Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics cards may experience black screen flickering when minimizing the game and switching to the video view tab.
- Using Radeon Super Resolution scaling technology on monitors with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels may cause system hangs. As a workaround, AMD recommends setting the display scaling mode to Full Panel;
- advanced sync may cause a black screen to appear when enabled in some games and system configurations. Users who may experience problems with advanced sync enabled should disable it;
- Radeon Application performance metrics and logging features may intermittently report very high and incorrect memory clock rates.
