This week, the capital received three more trams as part of the implementation of the Urban Public Transport of Ukraine project.
Kiev received three trams as part of a project financed by borrowed funds from the European Investment Bank.
This was announced by the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Povoroznik.
“Kyiv receives 3-section low-floor trams. Each car is equipped with 59 seats, including for people with disabilities, and an air-conditioning unit with air conditioning in the driver’s cab and in the cabin. In total, a 26-meter three-section tram can carry about 260 passengers,” he said.
According to him, 95% of the parts are Ukrainian-made. The tram is certified according to international ISO standards.
The trams that the city received earlier are already running along the left-bank network of the capital. Those who received it now will expand the network.
It is expected that by the end of 2023, according to the terms of the contract, the capital will receive 20 tram cars.
The project “Urban Public Transport of Ukraine” is supported and aimed at improving the infrastructure of public transport in Ukrainian cities.
Recall that several more trams and trolleybuses have resumed operation in Kiev.
