During the war, the risk of getting tetanus increases significantly, because it can occur due to dirt getting into the wound or due to the bite of an animal.
Tetanus affects the nervous system and causes severe convulsions, and mortality from it reaches 70%. At the same time, antiseptic treatment cannot neutralize bacteria.
The only way to prevent tetanus is vaccination.

There are two possible ways of infection.
The first option: you drove a piece of wood into your foot or stepped on a fragment of a broken alcohol bottle, at the same time injuring your skin.
The second option: you were in contact with soil or water contaminated with Clostridium tetani bacteria, already having an open wound, that is, dirt, dust, water got into the wound. Clostridium tetani bacteria can withstand high temperatures due to living in the soil and environment for years.
