The coach added that they considered the possibility of holding control matches with two Segunda clubs, as well as on an artificial field with the Lithuanian national team, but the Ukrainian side rejected these proposals.

Petrakov noted that now it would be more expedient to conduct internal sparring within the team.

“We will divide the national team into two squads, we will play in the training center of the Football Union of Slovenia, where we have been preparing for more than three weeks, on a field already familiar to us, without unnecessary travel and climate change. In the current situation, this is the only acceptable option,” he stressed.

Recall that the head coach of Scotland’s Steve Clark a week before the match against Ukraine spoke about his expectations and emotions from the game against the “blue-yellow”.
