Micron introduced the Crucial P3 Plus and Crucial P3 NVMe consumer SSDs, which can be classified as mid-range solutions. The first supports the PCIe 4.0 standard, the second works with PCIe 3.0. Both series offer storage models up to 4TB.
The manufacturer did not go into technical details. He only pointed out that the Crucial P3 Plus series drives provide sequential read and write speeds of up to 5000 and 4200 MB / s, respectively. Models of the Crucial P3 series, in turn, offer speeds up to 3500 and 3000 MB / s, respectively.
The company notes that the new products presented are built using Micron’s 176-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory chips. Solutions, according to the manufacturer, are perfect for professional and creative tasks, as well as for use as part of gaming PCs.
Both the Crucial P3 Plus and Crucial P3 SSD series will be available this summer. The company did not specify their cost, but it is unlikely to be too high. For example, the more advanced 1TB Crucial P5 Plus and P5 are currently on sale in the US for $128 and $110, respectively. New items will obviously be much cheaper.
