SteelSeries has unveiled the Arctis Nova Pro and Nova Pro Wireless gaming headsets. Both are equipped with noise reduction technologies, as well as Spatial Audio surround sound.
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro features 40mm Premium High Fidelity drivers and the new GameDAC Gen 2 DAC based on the ESS Saber 9218PQ40 with Hi-Res audio support. The GameDAC Gen 2 also allows you to adjust the voice chat/game volume ratio and sampling resolution.
The Arctis Nova Pro headphones are equipped with a ClearCast Gen 2 microphone with bi-directional noise cancellation. The technology uses AI algorithms and removes not only background noise, but also the sound from pressing keys or breathing. The wired version connects to the sound source via two 3.5mm connectors or via USB. Removable ear pads with magnets are a nice bonus.
Wireless model Arctis Nova Pro Wireless will be released in three versions at once: for game consoles Xbox and PlayStation, as well as a version for PC. Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is similar in performance to the Nova Pro model, but the wireless version has an active noise cancellation system, which is responsible for four microphones. The novelty is connected to the signal source via a 2.4 GHz radio channel, or using Bluetooth 5.0.
Claimed battery life Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is 44 hours. An additional battery is included with the headphones. There is a possibility of “hot” replacement of the accumulator.
Instead of the GameDAC Gen 2, the wireless version features a base station that charges the headset’s battery. 15 minutes of charging provides three hours of battery life.
Model Arctis Nova Pro is estimated by the manufacturer at $250. The wireless version is $100 more expensive. The company did not announce the date of receipt of new products on sale.
