Samsung made a giant photo banner on a 200-megapixel HP1 sensor (video)

Almost a year ago, the premiere of Samsung ISOCELL HP1 , the first 200-megapixel sensor for smartphones, took place. And although during this time he did not get into any commercial product, there are chances to see him in the Motorola Frontier camera phone. Meanwhile, Samsung itself decided to show it in action, using it to create a giant (28 x 22 meters or 616 m²) street banner with a photo of a cat. The company presented the process of shooting and creating it in the form of a short video:

Samsung сделала гигантский баннер из фото на 200-Мп сенсор HP1 (видео)

From it, we learn that the picture was taken not at all with a tiny mobile optics, but with a professional lens from a full-length camera. And, as you know, it is optics that has a decisive contribution to the quality of the image, while the task of the sensor is only to fix the photon flux. The main idea of the Samsung video was that the main advantage of the 200-megapixel HP1 sensor will be the ability to crop the image without sacrificing quality.
