Faced with backlash from OnePlus fans, OPPO recently dropped the idea of merging OxygenOS’ proprietary skin with its own ColorOS, announcing plans to continue their independent development. Wanting to probe the moods and wishes of users, the company conducted a new survey on the pages of its OnePlus forum. In it, fans are invited to describe the best and worst features of the shells they have come across, as well as share those features that they would like to borrow from other OSes. It is also proposed to distribute the most significant features of the OS in order of priority.

However, the comments of the community left under the publication on the forum turned out to be much more entertaining. In them, OnePlus fans stigmatize the company for breaking promises, abandoning Snapdragon chipsets in numbered flagships ( OnePlus 10R ), poor OxygenOS 12 optimization, and slow release of software updates for recent devices ( OnePlus 9RT autumn still did not receive Android 12). But the most frequent request sounds simple: bring back the way it was – pure and smooth OxygenOS without ColorOS impurities. Will the company cope with the requirements – we will find out with the release of OxygenOS 13.
