The company “Ukrposhta” reported a stable increase in the volume of card transactions. This situation has been observed from the very beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Thus, in May, the total number of all acquiring transactions increased by 28.7% (compared to April) and reached 1.2 million transactions per month. The number of transactions per POS-terminal also increased from 126 transactions in April to 162 in May.
The most popular service is card replenishment through POS-terminals. During May, Ukrainians replenished card accounts in Ukrposhta branches in the amount of UAH 135.8 million, an increase compared to April amounted to a record 113%. The number of card replenishment transactions in May increased by 78.6% compared to April and amounted to 49 thousand (against 19 thousand in February). The average service bill in May amounted to UAH 2.7 thousand against 2.3 thousand in April and 2.1 thousand in March. Also in May, the number of card payments for goods and services increased by 31% and amounted to 991.6 thousand transactions against 755 thousand in April.
Back in May, there was an increase in the use of the service for withdrawing cash from cards through POS-terminals of Ukrposhta. Last month, the total volume of such transactions amounted to 172 thousand (up 7.8% against April) for a total of UAH 341 million. Most of all, the service of withdrawing cash from cards is used in Donetsk and Sumy regions. There, the increase in the number of transactions compared to April amounted to 56% and 59%, respectively.
