Aliens: Dark Descent, The Callisto Protocol and Fort Solis: main games and trailers of Summer Game Fest 2022

As part of the Summer Game Fest 2022 event, the developers shared information about their upcoming projects, presented trailers and gameplay videos for games that should be released in the coming years. We offer you to get acquainted with the most interesting projects and remind you that even before the start of the event, it became known about the imminent release of a remake of the first part of The Last of Us .

Aliens: Dark Descent

Aliens: Dark Descent is described by developer Tindalos Interactive as a team game that puts you in command of a group of colonial marines against xenomorphs and an unknown new enemy. The game is scheduled for release in 2023 on current and next generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as on PC.

The Callisto Protocol

This is a survival horror game from Striking Distance Studios, the members of which worked on the original Dead Space. The developers showed a gameplay trailer in which you can see a lot in common with Dead Space. The game is due out December 2nd.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

The developers showed a gameplay video with the passage of the level. In the video, you can see a trip on a boat, boarding a ship in an attempt to neutralize a missile, battles, surviving in a storm, water and wind physics in the game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is scheduled to release on October 28th.

Continuation of Flashback

Flashback helped create the cinematic platformer genre in 1992 and has a sequel 30 years after its release. The sequel is being developed by French studio Microids and will be released on current and next generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Steam and Nintendo Switch in winter 2022.

Fort Solis

Fort Solis is being developed by the independent studio Fallen Leaf. The project is described as a fantasy “tense thriller” that is a mixture of Dead Space and Duncan Jones’ Luna 2112. It’s a fast-paced narrative game set in a remote Martian mining outpost. The game will be released on Steam.

Routine

Routine was announced back in 2012, but has been constantly delayed. And now, 10 years later, the developers have shown a new trailer, which says that the game will be released on PC, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass, but the release date is still not called. Initially, the developers promised an eerie atmosphere of horror on a spaceship inhabited by dangerous robots.

Stormgate

Frost Giant Studios was founded by former Blizzard developers, including those who worked on StarCraft and Warcraft strategies. The studio has announced its first game, a sci-fi real-time strategy game with demons. Stormgate is supposed to “stay true” to the classic RTS formula. The developers want to use the free-to-play model without the inclusion of pay-to-win mechanics or crypto tokens.

Highwater

Highwater from developer Golf Club: Wasteland is “an action-adventure strategy game set in a world devastated by extreme climate change.” The trailer follows the characters as they navigate the flooded city of Alphaville, and features exploration and turn-based combat.

midnight suns

Midnight Suns by Firaxis Games was announced last year and has now been officially released on October 7th. It’s a tactical RPG set in the “dark side of the Marvel Universe”.

Multiplayer game from the creators of The Last of Us

In addition to The Last of Us Part I remake, Naughty Dog is also working on a multiplayer game that should be as big as its single player games and have a unique story. Initially, the project began as The Last of Us Part II multiplayer mode, but then it was decided to expand it into a separate – as yet untitled – game. Part of the concept art suggests it will be set in a post-apocalyptic San Francisco and features “an entirely new cast of characters”. Next year, the developers promise to provide more details.
