Blizzard: Diablo Immortal is 'biggest launch in franchise history' with over 10 million installs

Despite the fact that many users are extremely negative about the new Diablo Immortal game and brought down its Metacritic rating (0.5 at the time of preparation of the material), Blizzard herself says that the project was very successful. According to the company, the launch of Diablo Immortal was the best of all the games in the Diablo series.

Diablo Immortal’s official Twitter account states that in just one week, Diablo Immortal is the biggest launch in franchise history. The post is complemented by an image stating that the game has been installed more than 10 million times since its release.

However, it should be noted that Diablo Immortal is the first free-to-play game in the series, and Blizzard compares its launch to fully paid games.

As for the number of players, the game still has a lot of work to do to overtake Diablo III. By August 2015, Diablo III had sold 30 million copies, according to Blizzard (although it’s not clear if that includes expansion sales).

In addition, while Diablo Immortal has a very low user rating on Metacritic, it has significantly higher ratings in mobile app stores. So, iOS users rated the novelty at 4.6 points out of 5, and Android users at 3.6 out of 5.
