The Czech Republic took in more than 300 thousand refugees who moved because of the war in Ukraine. There are many children among them who will go to school in a new place in September. To make it easier for them to get used to it, GoStudy, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic, launches free intensive Czech language courses.

How does the course work
The Czech language, like Ukrainian, is part of the group of Slavic languages. GoStudy says that if you study regularly, your child will be able to master the basics in just a month. The study mode should be intensive, as in the GoStudy school course: four lessons a day, five days a week. One lesson lasts 45 minutes.
The main task of education is to prepare the student for daily communication at school with classmates and teachers. Classes include integration tasks, during which teachers focus on expanding vocabulary.
“At the same time, the guys do not have to cram for hours. The material is assimilated by playing scenes from life, so that the vocabulary will be “absorbed” in a natural way,” the teachers say.

Where and who will teach
All lessons will be held live at the training centers in Prague and Brno. The GoStudy team says that the quality of education is guaranteed by two factors:
- Children will be engaged in small groups, where no more than ten people. Teachers will be able to answer all questions and devote time to each student.
- GoStudy professors have been teaching for many years, they are well acquainted with the living Czech language. This means that the children will learn not only the “book” language, but also the spoken language, they will learn phrases that are often used in everyday life, which are sometimes not in textbooks. Classes will help you better understand the mentality and culture of the country in which you will live and study.
After completing the course , the student will be able to communicate with classmates and teachers at school and feel comfortable among the Czechs.
What does the course give students
The intensive free course includes 80 lessons and can be taken in June, July or August 2022. Each student who attends at least 75% of the classes and passes the four-part final test – reading, listening, writing and speaking – will receive a certificate. With this document, it will be easier to identify a student in a Czech school, and knowledge will make it easier to start learning.

How to enroll in a course
Any student between the ages of 14 and 18 who has been granted temporary protection in the Czech Republic due to the war in Ukraine can register for the course.
The student must choose where he wants to study – in Prague or Brno, and fill out a simple registration form . After that, he needs to come to the school office, where he will be assigned to a study group. The person will also receive an email with details of the course and required documents. The date, time and place of the start of classes will also be indicated there. The number of places on the course is limited – the school will accept 3 thousand students.
