The film, tentatively known as Paddington 3, has now been officially titled Paddington in Peru. Thus, the funny bear will return to its homeland.
Commercial director Dougal Wilson will also direct the film. Thus, “Paddington in Peru” will be his first feature film. Wilson directed music videos such as Satisfaction for Benny Benassi, Take Me Back to Your House for Basement Jaxx, Life in Technicolor II for Coldplay.
“As a big fan of the first two films, I’m very excited (if not a little intimidated) to continue the Paddington story,” said Dougal Wilson. “It’s a huge responsibility, but all my efforts will be focused on making a third film dedicated to the love of so many people for this very special bear.”
Paul King, director of the previous two films, is currently busy with other projects. However, King will executive produce Paddington in Peru. He also wrote the film with Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton, who also helped on other Paddington films.
Principal filming for Paddington Peru will begin next year. Filming will begin with some delay compared to previous plans. Filming was originally scheduled to start at the end of this year. The film will be filmed in both London and Peru. The cast and plot have yet to be revealed. We only know that Ben Whishaw returns to the role of a bear.
Paddington 2 was released in 2017 to positive reviews from critics, as well as a 100% Certified Fresh approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Worldwide box office totaled more than $220 million against a reported budget of $40 million. In the Ukrainian dub, Paddington Bear was voiced by Volodymyr Zelensky, currently the President of Ukraine. Probably, another actor will voice the bear in Ukrainian in the movie “Paddington in Peru”.
