Conversations around the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra camera phone do not subside. Today, the network whistleblower Digital Chat Station decided to dispel the widespread rumor about the red Leica logo, which is often depicted on fan renders on top of the main camera module. In reality, of course, it won’t. Moreover, there is no hidden connotation in this decision: the peculiarity of Leica brand management is such that the company places this logo exclusively on its own products. However, in some places the “Coca-Cola” icon in Xiaomi 12 Ultra can still be found: it will be affixed to each picture in the form of a watermark.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun updated his Weibo avatar, appearing in a picture with a Leica M10-R camera worth over $8,000. In one post, he assured fans that switching to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 won’t be a “small upgrade”. Recall that this chipset will form the basis of not only Xiaomi 12 Ultra, but also Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro. The presentation of the devices will take place in July.
