Last week, a major annual sale took place in China 6.18, the results of which were summed up by the country’s largest online store JD. As a result, a list of the 20 most popular smartphone models was formed, which the inhabitants of the Celestial Empire preferred to buy. And, as if confirming a recent Strategy Analytics report , the Chinese unanimously voted in ruble yuan for … iPhone 13. So unanimously that the total number of orders amounted to an incredible 2.82 million pieces (!) – in total this is more than the nine models that followed it combined (!!!).
The reason for such an incredible demand, as well as the absence of other models of the iPhone 13 series in the list, is quite simple: the device had a huge discount, taking into account which it cost even less than the iPhone 12, which prompted the Chinese to buy this particular model in such a massive way. At the same time, sales of the iPhone 13 Pro amounted to about 36 thousand units, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max – 30 thousand units.
Nevertheless, it is worth taking a closer look at the most popular Android devices, among which the inexpensive sub-flagships Redmi K50 and Xiaomi 12X (341 and 234 thousand units, respectively) are in the lead. Surprisingly, even the one-year-old Mi 11 Ultra sold better than Xiaomi 12. The Chinese buyer paid a lot of attention to very low-end entry-level solutions: Redmi 9A and 10A – 197 thousand orders each. By the way, out of 20 leaders, 11 positions were occupied by Xiaomi smartphones, with the bulk located in the top ten.
