While Motorola is slowly teasing the 200-megapixel Edge X30 Pro camera phone, another company known for its craving for records is closely eyeing ultra-high-resolution sensors. Of course, we are talking about Xiaomi, whose plans are again revealed by the network informant Digital Chat Station. But, like Samsung, Xiaomi is in no hurry to immediately introduce it into the flagship device right away: the source hints that we are talking about some kind of mid-budget smartphone. Such, for example, was Xiaomi CC 9 Pro , the first in the world to offer a 108-megapixel camera.
Xiaomi Civi
Apparently, the hint goes towards the Xiaomi Civi 2 family, which this time is expected in the form of a couple of models. The older one, tentatively called Civi 2 Pro, will sport a 200-megapixel sensor paired with, all of a sudden, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (it was previously reported that the chip will quickly become the lot of sub-flagships due to the imminent release of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2). There will also be a basic Civi 2, but with a 50-megapixel main camera and, probably, a different chip.
