Samsung is due to begin closed beta testing of One UI 5 firmware based on Android 13 in July, which will be received by the current flagships of the Galaxy S22 series before the end of this year. The 9to5google resource got access to an early version of the test firmware, where some innovations became known. In particular, Samsung again corrects the design of the curtain (played with transparency, changed icons, added the display of the active application), and also adds new multitasking gestures (swipe with two fingers from the bottom activates the dual screen mode, swipe from the top corner – a pop-up window). In addition, the Koreans will teach a smartphone to copy text from a picture and transfer it to messages (hello, iOS 16), streamline security and privacy settings, add a smartphone image to the About phone menu and UWB to settings.
The author found it strange that the permission popup now looks like it does on stock Android, but this may be an adjustment for the early status of the firmware. In general, there are not many changes yet, but work continues. We expect more clear information towards the end of July.
