Smartphone Nothing Phone 1 has a not quite typical design. On its rear panel, light strips (the so-called glyph interface) are available, which are designed for various notifications. For example, a light bar on the back next to the USB-C port can show how charged the battery is while charging, and the center indicator lights up when using wireless charging (direct or reverse). All bars can flash when receiving notifications or incoming calls, and they can also be synchronized with phone ringtones. There are also more practical features. So, the strips can act as fill light when shooting, and an additional red LED on the back of the phone flashes when the phone is recording video.

The device is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus processor, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 128 or 256 GB. On the rear panel is a camera based on two 50-megapixel sensors. The main module is complemented by electronic and optical image stabilization systems. The novelty also received a 4500 mAh battery, support for 33 W fast wired charging and 15 W wireless charging. The fingerprint scanner is located under the display. The case provides protection against dust and moisture according to the IP53 standard. The device runs Nothing OS based on Android. The shell has received improved integration with third-party solutions. For example, it is possible to control other devices such as the Tesla car (including unlocking the doors and turning on the car’s air conditioner) directly from the quick settings menu. The software also includes NFT integration (may display images on the phone’s desktop or track their prices). The manufacturer promises 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates.

The new Nothing Phone 1 smartphone will go on sale in more than 40 markets, including the UK, Japan, India and continental Europe. The 8/128 GB configuration is £399 (about $475), 8/256 GB is £449 (about $535), 12/256 GB is £499 (about $593).
