Amazon Prime Video has released a new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which gives viewers a glimpse into the Second Age of Middle-earth.
The trailer begins with Galadriel’s narration when a young elf says:
“There was a time when the world was so young that there was no sunrise.”
The trailer then introduces viewers to elves, dwarves, humans, and hobbits. But when one of the hobbits says: “We are safe,” it becomes clear that this is not so. Galadriel speaks of visions of evil and an enemy that is “still there”. The trailer also showcases battle scenes and hints at the appearance of Sauron to fight.
The last shots of the trailer show four hobbits walking across a grassy field, evoking the departure of Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin from the Shire.
The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power will premiere on September 2 this year on Amazon Prime Video.
