In the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after working out proposals for taking women on the military list of those liable for military service, they decided to do this only with their consent.

Order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine dated 11.10.2021 No. 313 (with changes until the order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine dated 07.02.2022 No. 35, registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine for the current period). provides that from October 1, 2022, women of certain specialties specified in the List to the order will take military registration of those liable for military service.
During the general mobilization since the beginning of the full-scale war for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, about 1% of the total number of mobilized women were called up, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Most of them were appointed to the positions of medical staff, communication units, moral and psychological support, clerks, accountants and cooks.
Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine still need women specialists in medicine, radio engineering and food technology, but “there is no urgent need” to significantly increase the number of women on military records, the General Staff notes.

On October 11, 2021, the Ministry of Defense, by separate order No. 313 ( entered into force on December 17), approved a list of specialties and / or professions related to the corresponding military registration specialties. Representatives of these professions must be registered for military service if they are suitable for health reasons and age (from 18 to 60 years). At first, the Ministry of Defense indicated 35 professional areas in the List, each of which represents dozens of individual specialties, but after criticism and a petition to abolish military registration for women , the Ministry of Defense revised the decision and approved an abbreviated version of the List, combining 14 specialties and 6 professions.
