Intel has moderated expectations for its upcoming Arc A750 Limited Edition GPU. The new video provides a brief overview of a device with a fairly average performance.
Note that the A750 GPU belongs to the top line of Intel video chips, as indicated by the number “7” at the beginning of the number. The Arc 5 and Arc 3 series sit below the Arc 7 and should offer mid-range and entry-level performance, respectively.
In this video, Intel representative Ryan Shrout launches Cyberpunk 2077 on a PC with an A750 GPU. Instead of showing the gameplay for a long time, Shraut jumps right into the performance analysis. At the “high quality” settings and a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, the video card provides an average of “slightly less” 60 frames per second. This is not bad, but clearly not the result that can be expected from a representative of the top line.
If we compare the new Arc A750 with the Nividia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, then the Intel solution shows an advantage of 1.06-1.15 times in games such as Cyberpunk 2077, F1 2021, Control, Borderlands 3 and Fortnite. But we’re talking about benchmarks, and Shrout notes that “Arc’s performance won’t look like this in all games.” He describes the test as “a great representation of what Arc is capable of with the right game setup and software development.” Now we need to wait for independent tests to see how the Arc A750 GPU performs in different games and with different settings.
At the same time, a slide showing Intel’s policy regarding pricing, power consumption and memory size of Alchemist devices was lit up on the network. The slide is allegedly part of a presentation intended for Taiwanese Intel partners. According to this slide, the price of Intel Arc Alchemist graphics cards will be less than $400.
Thus, the flagship version of the A770 should cost between $350 and $390. This is less than the recommended retail price of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and Radeon RX 6600 XT ($399). The A750 should cost $330, which is the same price as the competing GeForce RTX 3060 and Radeon RX 6600 devices. The A580 version, which should compete with the GeForce RTX 3050, will cost about $100 less. The A380 has already gone on sale in China for less than $150, which corresponds to its position on the slide. Finally, the A310 model is positioned in the initial segment, which should cost a little less than $100.
