We are already accustomed to the same scheme regarding Chinese smartphones of the middle and budget segments: first, the manufacturer introduces a new product in China, and then releases a global version that is significantly inferior to the “Chinese”. But something went wrong with OPPO: the global versions of OPPO Reno 8 presented yesterday turned out to be better than their Chinese counterparts. More precisely, the global OPPO Reno 8 Pro turned out to be an exact copy of the Chinese Reno 8 Pro +, and the global OPPO Reno 8 is a copy of the Chinese device of the same name, but with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera instead of a depth sensor (the second plug, a 2-megapixel camera for macro, was left). There are other small differences in the characteristics, but they are more likely to be rounding errors.
It is curious that the Chinese OPPO Reno 8 Pro, which is the only smartphone in the world on Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, was left without a global version at all, and only Dimensity models went to the world (OPPO Reno 8 runs on Dimensity 1300, and Reno 8 Pro runs on Dimensity 8100-Max). The price of OPPO Reno 8 in India starts from 29,999 rupees (21,200 rubles), Reno 8 Pro – from 45,999 rupees (32,500 rubles).
