Apparently, Microsoft planned to release a more affordable version of the Surface Duo 2. Images of such a device appeared on eBay, but then the publication was removed.
It is reported that Microsoft originally planned to release a more affordable mid-range version of the Surface Duo 2. She was supposed to enter the market later this year. However, at the end of 2021, the company decided to abandon the launch of this model. The device, codenamed Cronos, was made in a plastic case and had a design with more rounded corners. It also reports the use of a more affordable mid-range Qualcomm processor, dual rear cameras (instead of triple), and non-curved displays. It is assumed that this model could be presented under the name Surface Duo Go.
Microsoft is currently working on bringing Android 12L to existing Surface Duo 2 devices instead of releasing a more affordable Surface Duo 2 variant later this year. The next Surface Duo flagship is expected to not arrive until late 2023.
