Recently, major global electronics manufacturers have become eager to produce their own, independent chipsets. Most notable recent ones have been Google’s Tensor chips and Apple’s M-series. This issue is even more acute for Chinese companies, which, using the example of Huawei, are convinced of the need for their own production facilities. It turned out that the Chinese company ByteDance, known to everyone as the creator and owner of TikTok, is exploring the possibility of creating semiconductor products for its own needs.
It is reported that she allegedly could not find suppliers who would satisfy her requirements. The chips produced are planned to be used to process workloads on ByteDance servers, generated by the video platform (TikTok), information and entertainment applications. At the same time, the sale of chips to other companies is not planned.
