ZTE held a presentation of the Nubia Z40S Pro, the flagship of the second half of the year, which has become a systematic development of the already impressive Nubia Z40 Pro . There are four main changes: a new design, an upgrade of the cameras, the rejection of the waterfall screen and the transition to a more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. So, in order: the device received a completely redesigned body with flat edges, one of which has a physical switch. With it, you can not only quickly turn off the sound, but just as quickly start the camera.
Speaking of cameras, the sensors themselves remain the same (64-megapixel IMX787 with OIS and 35mm optics, 50-megapixel wide JN1 and 8-megapixel periscope), but received an addition in the form of a flicker reduction sensor. Shirik got autofocus by learning how to take 8K macro shots from a distance of 2 cm. In addition, the Nubia Z40S Pro is capable of recording 4K@120fps video and taking RAW shots.
The 10-bit AMOLED screen retained a diagonal of 6.67 “and a dynamic frequency of up to 144 Hz, but is now covered with flat glass and is ready to boast of minimal frames. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is cooled by a 10-layer cooling system with a large evaporation chamber (3062 mm²), due to which the device knocks out 1,132,759 “parrots” in AnTuTu.
Hoping to please the fans, ZTE has prepared two modifications of the Nubia Z40S Pro: with 120W charging and a 4600mAh battery and a more conservative version with 80W charging, but already 5000mAh. What’s nice is that Nubia’s engineers managed to fit it all inside a rather thin 8.05mm glass and metal case.
The price tag starts at 3399 yuan for the 80W version with 8/128 GB, and the maximum configuration with 120 W charging, 18 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage will cost customers 6699 yuan. There will be three colors to choose from: green, black and gaming with a special pattern on the lid, which will be distributed with an expanded set of accessories. Nubia Z40S Pro will go on sale in China on July 26th.
