Ukraine has contracted about 100 drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the Army of Drones program. These are the first agreements under the program, and their total amount is UAH 260.5 million. Drones will make it possible to monitor the situation on the line of confrontation without risk, identify ammunition depots, equipment and manpower of the Russian occupiers, as well as any movements of the enemy.
So, soon Ukraine will receive 20 Polish WB Electronics FlyEye NATO-style UAVs – these are some of the best reconnaissance drones in the world, previously used by the Ukrainian military in the war against Russian militants in the war in eastern Ukraine since 2015.
“We acquired them, among other things, thanks to a very large contribution from the entrepreneur in the field of space technology Maxim Polyakov, who is well aware of the importance of technological advantage at the front. Maxim donated more than 100 million hryvnias to the Army of Drones!”

FlyEye (in Ukrainian – “Flying Eye”) is an unmanned aerial system, one of the elements of which is a compact aircraft built according to the high-wing scheme. It has a straight wing with a span of 3.6 m, to which is attached the fuselage of a characteristic shape and is equipped with a single electric motor. The central compartment of the fuselage contains the equipment necessary for reconnaissance (it can be used for conducting visual, acoustic and electronic reconnaissance, as well as a radio repeater and a specialized means for transporting small and sensitive cargo). The aircraft starts from the hand and does not require additional devices to launch it.
The FlyEye UAV has a length of 1.9 m and a takeoff weight of 11 kg, while the payload is 4 kg. The power plant allows the device to reach speeds of up to 160 km / h and climb to a height of up to 4 km. The duration of the flight, depending on various factors, is within two to three hours.
The reconnaissance FlyEye, together with the Warmate kamikaze strike drone, make up the Sokol strike and reconnaissance complex – in 2017 it passed field tests, but it has not yet been put into service.
Multicopters Matrice + ground stations for Warmate
Under one agreement, the Army of Drones will purchase 78 Matrice multicopters equipped with artificial intelligence technology. These “birds” are able to record high-quality videos, focus on targets and remotely determine potential danger.
The State Special Communications Service also purchases 2 ground systems for 20 Warmate kamikaze drones, which were acquired thanks to the monobank charitable initiative .
