Ukrainians have created the KiteTools application, thanks to which parents can take care of their children from a distance, and children can help Ukraine. To do this, they must regularly perform tasks like reading, exercising, and so on.
In a partner article with KiteTools, his team shares how the app helps little Ukrainians to be distracted and better able to cope with the new war conditions.
Parents created for children: how KiteTools appeared
KiteTools was created by a team of IT parents who were away from their children, who had to leave the country because of the war.
IT specialists were guided by the recommendations of psychologists when they developed the KiteTools application. It helps children take a little break from new circumstances, such as moving, unusual surroundings and homesickness, and stay in touch with their parents at least virtually.
“At first we developed the project almost for ourselves personally,” says Dmitry, CEO of the project. “For me, for example, it was a way to keep in touch with my son, who is away from me most of the time.”

How the app works
KiteTools is a daily task tracker app. It is built on the method of resuming habitual affairs. Parents choose 10 basic tasks from a ready-made list or add their own. Morning exercises, studying lessons, reading and so on – all this can be noted, and then follow the performance.
“When the day is structured and consists of small but constant tasks, the psyche adapts more easily,” the KiteTools team explains. “And we also added gamification here.”
When completing tasks, the child receives “tools” – internal conventional units. For example, one tool for completing at least one task per day, three for ten tasks per day, or 15 for 10 tasks per day for a month. If you use the application regularly, you can easily get more than 100 tools in a month.
This method is not only suitable for children .
Adults can also complete their list of tasks in parallel with the child. “This is already a family competition,” the developers add.

How you can help Ukraine with KiteTools
A child can turn his inner achievements in KiteTools into real help to Ukraine.
“We noticed even at home that the children themselves are somehow worried about Ukraine, especially those who left with their parents. It was felt that even they wanted to contribute, say the developers. “So we give them the opportunity to help.”
Every 100 tools a child can donate to charity, and the KiteTools team converts them into money – $1 – and passes them on.
KiteTools is already available in the main stores: App Store and Google Play. It has been downloaded over 10,000 times. The app also has a free trial period.
“In order to have something to donate to charity, money is needed,” Dmitry, CEO of the project, says. – And to make everything work too. So from the second month, the use is paid.
The KiteTools team helps the army, volunteers, migrants, animal shelters. From each monthly payment, 30% will go to charity .
