The current Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 was released quite late this year, implemented by Samsung, and in general turned out to be slightly better than its predecessor, which is why MediaTek Dimensity 8000/8100 chips now fill the sub-flagship segment. However, next year the situation may turn around: network informant Digital Chat Station announced an ambitious new product from Qualcomm. We are talking about the new 7-series chipset (presumably Snapdragon 7 Gen 2), which this time will be produced by TSMC.

The source hints that this chip can be called the Lite version of Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which already says a lot about its performance. On the other hand, MediaTek is not far behind, the new generation of the Dimensity 8000 series of which “inherits the peripheral specifications of the Dimensity 9000. In a word, the sub-flagship segment of chips in 2023 will be much more interesting than what we have today.
