Ground public transport of the capital will stop for the duration of the air raid, the decision was made by the Defense Council of the city of Kyiv. This was announced by the first deputy chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Povoroznik.
“According to the recommendations of the State Emergency Service, the city is introducing mandatory rules for all public transport, including land, during an air raid.
According to the decision of the Defense Council of the city of Kyiv, Kyivpasstrans and the heads of private companies providing passenger transportation services must stop traffic during an air raid, select a safe place in accordance with traffic rules and provide passengers with the opportunity to leave the cabin.
After that, passengers must go to the nearest shelter, ”explained Nikolai Povoroznik.
He also added that the metro will still not carry out transportation on ground sections and close the operation of open-type stations during an air raid.

There is no need to re-pay for travel in public transport after the end of the alarm. The controllers will be warned about this and will receive appropriate instructions,” Mykola Povoroznik said.
He also explained that after receiving the air raid signal, trams will take passengers to the nearest stop, buses and trolleybuses – to the nearest stop or expansion of the roadway – “pocket”. After the end of the alarm, the driver will wait for passengers for 10 minutes. Passengers who do not have time to return to the vehicle during this time will be able to use the next one. You do not have to pay the fare again in both cases.
“The city calls on private carriers to comply with safety rules during air raids and also credit passengers with pre-paid fares after the resumption of traffic,” Mykola Povoroznyk added.
