Meta has expanded the list of services available to Ukrainian users on its social platforms. Thus, a new video editing and distribution format, Instagram Reels, is becoming available to users in Ukraine.
Over the next weeks, all published videos up to 15 minutes in length will be enhanced with Reels’ creative tools. User-created videos will be featured in a separate tab, and public videos up to 90 seconds long will be featured in recommendations for other users to watch on Instagram.
You can create Reels using the Instagram camera. The user can shoot a video directly in the application or upload an existing video. Additionally, various video processing tools are offered:

- Audio. Users can search for a song in the Instagram audio library or use their own original audio by simply recording a video with it. When users share a video with original audio, they are credited with its authorship. If the user has a public account, other users can create videos with this audio by clicking “Use Audio” on Reels.
- AR effects. Users can choose any of the ready-made effects.
- Timer and countdown. This feature will help users set the timer for hands-free video recording. After pressing the button, a 3-2-1 countdown will be displayed, after which the shooting process will begin.
- Alignment. Users can align objects from the previous clip to record the next one to create smooth transitions for moments like changing outfits or adding new people to the frame.
- Speed. Users can use speed up and slow down video or audio.
- Retouch. This function will give an overall smoothing effect. Users will be able to control its intensity.
- Remixes. This feature allows you to react to creative photos and videos of other Instagram users, as well as collaborate with other creators. Users can remix public Instagram photos. In this case, the photos are automatically converted to Reels with a green screen layout allowing you to add your own video commentary. You can also choose from the available layouts: green screen, horizontal or vertical split screen, or reaction mode. Additionally, a picture-in-picture mode is available for collaborating with videos from other creators.
- Templates. A new feature that allows you to create Reels using another video as a template. All you have to do is add and trim your own video to the preloaded audio and template.
In addition, Meta offers access to music features for the Ukrainian community. Thus, the company launched its own audio libraries on Facebook and Instagram in Ukraine, which should help to communicate and express oneself more effectively. Now users will be able to legally add music from the extensive Facebook and Instagram libraries to publications.
