Fundraising platform UNITED24 today celebrates 3 months since its launch and in honor of this event, shares statistics and interesting facts. So, in July, UNITED24 was joined as ambassadors by an American actor, three-time Golden Globe nominee Liev Schreiber, one of the most famous musical groups in the world Imagine Dragons and creative director of the legendary Balenciaga fashion house Demna. The total amount of charitable contributions crossed the mark of $166 million (over UAH 6 billion), and professional military drones went to the front – the first purchases under the Army of Drones project.
“The third month of UNITED24 was marked by the launch of targeted fees,” says Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov. “Their effectiveness can be seen in the example of both the Army of Drones and the collection of ambulances, which was initiated by the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. More than 755 million hryvnias have already been collected for drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For class C ambulances – UAH 200 million. And that’s just five days later. It is important for people to see what exactly the money will be spent on. And when they understand the intended purpose, the collection is very active.”
Thanks to the Army of Drones, 78 Matrice multicopters, 20 Fly Eye 3.0 drones and two Warmate complexes with 40 kamikaze drones have already been purchased . The collection of Olena Zelenskaya within the framework of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen will allow the purchase of more than 50 cars. 24 top-class reanimobiles have already been purchased and are being sent to Ukraine.
In addition to drones and an ambulance, the funds raised through UNITED24 were used to purchase a Mi-2AM-1 helicopter for the first time. This model is a multi-purpose air transport, which is used primarily for the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield. It is capable of transporting two seriously wounded and three doctors or loads weighing up to 1200 kg over a distance of up to 600 km and at a speed of up to 200 km/h, which allows those for whom every minute is critical to reach the hospital on time.
During the third month of the platform’s operation, the Ministry of Health purchased 12 X-ray units with expert grade C-arches, 9 X-ray transparent operating tables and 83 anesthesia and respiratory machines. Ukrainian doctors will also receive ventilators for children’s hospitals.
Funds for them were collected as part of the charity matches of the first racket of the world Igi Svyontek: $ 191,000 from ticket sales, and another $ 100,000 was donated by the Johnson family from the New York Jets Foundation. For this purpose, Brik and Jack Johnson, heirs of the pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson, personally came to Krakow.
The Qatar Fund For Development also made a contribution to help Ukrainian doctors: $5,000,000 was used to purchase resuscitation vehicles and anesthetic-respiratory devices for inhalation anesthesia during surgical interventions in medical institutions. The direction of “Medical Assistance” has been strengthened thanks to new ambassadors – actor Liev Schreiber and musicians of the band Imagine Dragons.
The “Restoration of Ukraine” direction also received stellar support – Demna, creative director of Balenciaga, became its ambassador. The fashion house has created a special sweatshirt , all profits from the sale of which will be transferred to the restoration of infrastructure in Ukraine.
