During February and March, about 3 million Kyivstar subscribers were forced to leave their homes due to the start of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression. In order to support Ukrainians abroad, the operator launched “Roaming like at home” – in 30 countries of the world the same conditions apply as in Ukraine and without surcharges. According to Kyivstar analytics, about 2.5 million subscribers are still outside Ukraine and are increasingly using their Ukrainian number.
On average, in July, one subscriber with the “Roaming like at home” service used 5256 Mb of mobile Internet and called in roaming for 191 minutes. For comparison, customers of a regular roaming tariff download an average of 201 megabytes of data per month and talk for 9 minutes.
In total, about 900,000 subscribers use the “Roaming like at home” service every month. During the three months of the service, customers used almost 32 million GB of mobile Internet and talked with their family and friends for about 117 million minutes or 222 years, without surcharges for roaming.
Currently, the largest number of Kyivstar subscribers in roaming is in Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Romania, Moldova and Italy. In general, “Roaming like at home” works in 30 countries of the world. Among them are also Great Britain, Austria, France, Sweden, Greece, Egypt and many others.
More than 90% of Kyivstar subscribers are located in these countries, of those who are currently abroad. And more than half of them have tariffs that are covered by the “Roaming like at home” service. That is, they only need to top up their account in order to fully use their number with Ukrainian tariffs. And subscribers with old tariffs can change them to one of the current ones in the My Kyivstar system.
Let us also remind you that “Roaming like at home” operates automatically as soon as the client leaves for one of the indicated countries. Also, subscribers who already have any roaming package connected should first wait for its expiration or disable it.
